Executive Positions

Darren Hunter-Clarke


As Chair, I am responsible for the activities of the Committee and ensuring that all matters relating to the operation and funding of the club are being delivered through the Committee member roles according to the club constitution and ASA/Swim England requirements and regulations.  My role liaises into all Committee members as appropriate.

I am also responsible for fundraising and sponsorship activity which we are actively seeking to develop, given the exposure the club has in the county and wider South West region (and beyond).

I have one child at the club, currently swimming in County Plus squad, who has been swimming with Street & District since 2016.

Competition Secretary

As Competition Secretary, I am responsible for handling all entries to the various open meets our swimmers compete in.

I work alongside Paul Ritchie to plan a programme of meets over the year that will be most suited to our swimmers.

I also handle the entries for County and Regional competitions.

In addition I am responsible for ensuring we have enough officials attending each meet so the competitions can be licensed.

I have two children who have been part of the club since pre-squad.

Isobel has now left the club to focus on dance but is still a keen supporter of Jess, who swims in National Squad.

Mark Robinson

Communications Officer

As well as maintaining the Club website content, responding to all email enquiries and also producing the regular Tweets (follow @streetswimclub), I also do the press reports for the frequent competitions our swimmers enter and I can sometimes be found helping out with Team Managing.

I have two children in the club, one in the National squad and one in County plus and have held roles both at Street & District SC committee but also previously as acting Chair, Secretary, Press officer, Team Manager and Land Training instructor at Wells Swimming Club.

Membership Secretary

My role as Membership Secretary involves making sure that all new swimmers/parents receive, complete and return relevant paperwork for welfare and fees purposes.  I ensure that all swimmers/coaches/volunteers are registered with the ASA at the correct level for their commitment to the club.

I have been a 'swimming' parent with the club for 9 years! - all 3 of my children have been committed members over the years, my sons have now left but my daughter continues to swim successfully in County plus.

Welfare Officer

As the club Welfare Officer I am the first point of contact for coaches, members, and parents for any issue concerning child protection or the welfare of swimmers.
I have two children, both in County Plus squad, who have been swimming with Street & District for 4 years. As well as holding the welfare role I am a qualified J2 official so can often be seen on poolside at meets entered by the club.
